In Memory of David Frey

We cherish the memory of David Frey, a committed philanthropist whose legacy will endure for generations. David’s passion for Grand Rapids was evident in his volunteerism and leadership. In 2005, Grand Rapids Community Foundation awarded David Frey with the Jack Chaille Community Philanthropy Award. The award is given to an individual or couple who embodies the spirit of philanthropy. David demonstrated these qualities through his generosity and volunteerism.

David was appointed to the Grand Rapids Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees, serving as chairperson for two terms beginning in 1988. “David was a tireless advocate for our community,” said Diana Sieger, president. “He was unwavering in his commitment to Grand Rapids and believed in the strength of people who love our community. He cared so deeply about the positive growth and development of everyone in our community.
