Through the efforts of the Communities of Color Initiative, the Black Legacy Fund was established in April 2006. Funds are permanently endowed and a portion of the earnings are available annually to support 501(c)(3) organizations that serve the African American Community. The fund's new grantmaking framework is centered around the following main themes: opportunities for wealth building, leadership development, social and cultural institutions celebrating Black communities, mental health and community healing supports, and community organizing and advocacy. We are committed to being a permanent resource for our community, and this direction focuses on local Black communities who are most impacted. Your gift will support the fund's endowment, as well as provide resources for immediate grantmaking directed by the Black Legacy Fund committee.
