Steele Taylor Memorial Donations
Steele Taylor has been involved with the Grand Rapids Community Foundation for over 30 years. After meeting his wife Mary in Grand Rapids, they both became interested in the community and giving back. Early on, they became members of our "friends" group and later established a Donor-Advised Fund where they have been committed to various causes, with a special interest in the well-being and education of children. As long-time supporters of D.A. Blodgett - St. John's, Steele and Mary use their fund to ensure that children in its foster care system have a chance at a college education. In recent years, they have generously supported the Grand Rapids Community Foundation's Challenge Scholars program, which has a long-term goal to increase the number of first-generation, low-income students who successfully complete a degree or high-quality credential. The Grand Rapids Community Foundation valued our relationship with Steele and we are truly saddened by his passing. We are honored to accept donations in his memory designated to the Challenge Scholars Fund.
