About Forrest A. Pletcher Memorial Fund
Forrest A. Pletcher was a skilled professional in the field of carpentry. He was also a man of integrity and creativity who loved people. The Pletcher Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Forrest's son, Charles Pletcher, in 1989 as a loving legacy to his father.
Each year, the Memorial Fund provides three scholarships to students in the Carpentry Program at the Gerald R. Ford Job Corps Center. In 2013, three additional scholarships in the name of Forrest’s wife, Betty Pletcher were established to support students in the Culinary Arts Program at the Job Corps Center.
Scholarships awarded to date have totaled over $50,000. The scholarship fund is endowed; meaning it will continue to grow and provide for students exhibiting Forrest and Betty’s qualities of integrity, skills, creativity, and respect for others in perpetuity.
